On 26 June 2015, a mass shooting occurred at the tourist resort at Port El Kantaoui, approximately 10 kilometres north of the city of Sousse, Tunisia, when a gunman opened fire at the Spanish-owned five-star Riu Imperial Marhaba Hotel killing thirty-eight people.

The attack was the deadliest non-state attack in the history of modern Tunisia and received widespread condemnation around the world with the Tunisian government later publicly acknowledging fault as a result of the slow police response to the attack.

Hamid Sorgali, Bradburys security and political risk analyst for the MENA region visited the Sky News studios in London, UK, to provide analysis following the incident in addition to security advice for travellers.
