UK Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition
We were honoured by the UK Ministry of Defence with the prestigious Silver Award during a presentation evening held at Burleigh Court in Loughborough, Leicestershire (UK).
The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme acknowledges organisations who actively demonstrate support to the Armed Forces community including flexibility towards annual training commitments and mobilisation of reservist employees, support the employment of cadet instructors, Armed Forces veterans (including wounded, injured and sick) and military spouses/partners.
John Wilson, the Ministry of Defence’s Regional Employer Engagement Director, said: “Employing members of the Armed Forces community is beneficial to employers as they can often use the specialist skills and training individuals have gained through the Armed Forces in their workplace. Skills such as teamwork, problem-solving and having the experience of leading a team can be transferred into any civilian organisation”.
Roger Marshall, Managing Director at Bradburys, said: “Since its inception in 1951, the company’s founder, Horace Bradbury, maintained the strict ethos of keeping the Defence community at the heart of the business practice. This long-standing tradition has proven to be intelligent foresight which has remained with us and is still a fundamental part of our business activities and we are extremely proud to receive acknowledgement for our support to the Armed Forces Community and we look forward to strengthening this as we move forward into 2018”.
